Good NewsHe has an obvious love for motorcycles and knows how to fix them. He is courageous and will ride for long hours anywhere. He is a fairly good writer so most of the book is interesting. Also if you ever wonder what it is like to break down on the road, he does it often. He is positive and nice so he doesn't need to vent any negative stuff on the reader.Bad newsUnless you live in Canada or want to tour in Canada especially on lonely dirt road; his touring routes might be meaningless however Adventure Motorcycle groups would be interested.At the end of his rides he is drinking beers or fixing his bikes. Very little social interaction.Even though it is interesting, it is very repetitious. His bike breaks down he fixes it. His bike breaks down he fixes it... again and again. I am glad he likes old Moto Guzzis , but after reading is book I would never buy one. Too much character.Not much to learn if you don't like old bikes that break a lot. But it is a amusing story for a while.I would rate this as a three but since he belongs to the motorcycle crowd that loves to ride; I just can't rate this book that low then a 4 A few years back, I ran across a video of the author riding the then-unpaved Trans-Labrador Highway on an old Moto Guzzi. My reaction at the time was that this endeavor was an expression of true motorcycling soul and spirit. So I was happy to discover that Nick Adams has written up some of his adventures riding around the wilds of eastern Canada. The book gives the more conventional rider of modern machines an idea of the dedication and skills needed to restore old motorcycles and keep them running on long trips into remote areas.
